there is a way to demand mediocrity
without even knowing
making undeserved concessions
to repetitive mistakes
ignoring issues
allowing less
for some

the drive to give more
the need to do better
why?
time, effort, and stress
are precious
less here is acceptable
for some

a bar too highly set
a personal triumph
weighed down with
knowing
it is easier to pass
for some
